St. Patrick's Day Gnome Mason Jar Planter

Supplies

  • Mason jar

  • Green acrylic paint

  • White acrylic paint (optional accent)

  • Orange acrylic paint (optional beard tint)

  • Paintbrushes (small + medium)

  • Faux fur (white, gray, or orange)

  • Small wooden bead or pom-pom (nose)

  • Green felt or craft foam (hat)

  • Hot glue gun + glue sticks

  • Potting soil

  • Small plant (succulent, shamrock plant, or mint)

  • Optional decorations: ribbon, twine, gold coins, glitter

Instructions

1. Paint the Jar

Clean and dry the mason jar.
Paint the outside green.
Allow to dry completely.
Apply a second coat if needed.

2. Create the Beard

Cut faux fur into a rounded triangle or teardrop shape.
Glue the beard to the front of the jar with the point facing down.

3. Attach the Nose

Glue the wooden bead or pom-pom above the beard.
Let it slightly overlap the top of the beard.

4. Make the Hat

Cut green felt into a half-circle.
Roll into a cone shape and glue the seam.
Glue the hat on top of the jar, resting just over the nose.

5. Plant Your Greenery

(Optional) Add small pebbles for drainage.
Fill with potting soil.
Plant your succulent, shamrock, or herb.
Lightly water.

6. Add Finishing Touches

Tie ribbon or twine around the jar.
Add decorative gold coins or glitter if desired.
